JONATHAN TUNICKThe Award WinnerJonathan Tunick is an orchestrator, musical director and composer. He is one of only five living persons to have won an Academy Award, Emmy, Tony and Grammy. The bulk of his work has come from his involvement in theatre, and he is forever associated with the musicals of longtime collaborator Stephen Sondheim. Long regarded as Broadway's preeminent orchestrator, his credits include LoveMusik, 110 in the Shade, The Apple Tree, A Chorus Line, The Color Purple, Sweeney Todd, Titanic, Passion, Into the Woods, Nine, A Little Night Music, Follies and Company. He has scored films for Mike Nichols, Franco Zeffirelli and Sidney Lumet in addition to such seminal features as Sweeney Todd, Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein. His TV credits include Murder, She Wrote and Columbo. He has served as arranger/conductor on recordings for Bernadette Peters, Judy Collins, Itzhak Perlman, Placido Domingo, Johnny Mathis, Bette Midler, Barbra Streisand and Paul McCartney.
